Riad YacoutDay 1: Tangier – Fez

After your arrival to the ferry in Tangier, your will be escorted for about 5 hours drive to Fez.

Evening leisure at your riad. Dinner and overnight at your charming riad at the ancient city of Fez.

Day 2: Fez – Ifrane – Errachidia – Erfoud – Camel ride & Overnight in the Sahara

You will be escorted by your English speaking driver for a ride through the mid atlas mountains that hold a spectacular panorama views. You will make a special stop at one of the cedar forests where friendly and mischievous Barbary apes would want you to join them for a photo. You will also get the opportunity to feed them some fresh peanuts. Then you will continue your journey to Midelt for lunch, and through Errachidia to the last city (Erfoud) where civilization ends at this area of Morocco.

Camel Trek in the SaharaAfter, you will take a very short 30 min 4×4 drive to the Sahara / edge of the dunes.

A late afternoon, you will take a camel ride for a couple of hours to catch up the sunset on the dunes and to explore the mystical Saharan landscape as you ride by camel over the stunning sugar-fine sands of Merzouga as the red sun sinks. As night falls, listen to the beat of Berber drum music and song during the traditional cup of mint tea.

Delight in a Moroccan feast of harira soup, a savory tagine (stew with meat and vegetables), or couscous, fresh fruit within our nomad camp in the Sahara.

Accommodation under the stars or within your nomad tent.

Day 3: Sahara / Fes

Fez MerchantAfter a Berber breakfast, your will take another camel ride back to the edge of the dunes where you will switch off to your 4×4 for a short drive to one of the Saharaoui villages to meet with the local Nomads, then to Erfoud.

After, you will continue with your Moroccan journey traveling on to Azrou, you’ll pass fragrant forests of pine and cedar dotted amid lush farms and adobe homes of Berber villages. Then you continue on to the village of Midelt for lunch. Then through the colorful-rich Middle and High Atlas Mountains, which appear painted in all different colors…… follow by a short drive to Ifrane before you will arrive to the ancient city of Fez.

Day 4: Fez

People in FezFez is the holiest city in the Islamic world that you will have a full day visit with your certified guide.

It is barely unchanged, this enchanting city has been a seat of government, philosophy, medicine and it is the number one car free zone in the world. The best surviving example of an ancient Arab city, and the 2,000-year-old medina, where donkeys and mules are used for transport mode and carry goods through the ancient market, itself a fascinating place to be, alleys and markets full of spice shops and all homemade crafted items.

Fez is the perfect place where you can practice your bargaining skills in buying souvenirs, hand-loomed carpets or fine crafted decorated objects. You will also Visit the famous leather tanneries, with it amazing colors. A stop at the venerated Merenid Tombs for a spectacular panoramic view of Fez. You will also visit all museums Fez has to offer and all Jewish sites.
